Tired of the endless, repetitive monotony of commercial job sites? Pulling wire on cold slabs, working endless mandatory overtime, and missing family dinners—all for the exact same hourly rate no matter how hard you work?
It’s time to make a real change. At Mister Sparky of South Texas, you aren't just another body on a construction site. You’re part of a dedicated team serving our local community. We focus exclusively on residential service—helping real families when it matters most, restoring power, fixing critical safety hazards, and giving homeowners complete peace of mind.
Here, your hard work, diagnostic skills, and customer service directly drive your earnings. You can earn commercial-level pay—or even more—without sacrificing your personal life to excessive overtime.
Why Make the Switch from Commercial to Mister Sparky?
-
Serve Your Community: Make a tangible difference in people's lives every day. You're helping real families stay safe in their homes, not just standing on a cold commercial build.
-
Earn Top-Tier Pay Without Excessive Overtime: With performance-based compensation, top technicians earn $120,000+ per year. Your ability to diagnose issues and communicate solutions determines your income—not working 70+ hours a week.
-
More Time for Your Family: Say goodbye to endless forced overtime and travel. Enjoy reliable hours so you can get home in time for dinner and weekend activities.
-
Be Part of Our Family: Join a close-knit, supportive local team that pushes each other to win, respects your craft, and treats you like family.
-
No Monotony: Every day brings new homes, new people, and new technical challenges to keep your work engaging.
The Role (Your Day-to-Day)
This isn’t a standard clock-in, clock-out electrician job—it’s a high-reward Service Technician + Solutions Advisor hybrid.
You’ll drive a stocked company truck to residential service calls across South Texas, meeting homeowners who need expert help with dead circuits, outdated panels, or safety upgrades. You don't just patch problems; you diagnose the root cause, educate the customer, and deliver options that fit their needs.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Diagnose & Repair: Troubleshoot complex residential electrical issues and execute high-quality repairs and installs.
-
Educate & Advise: Walk homeowners through what's happening with their electrical system and present clear choices (repair vs. upgrade vs. replace).
-
Install & Upgrade: Perform panel upgrades, rewiring, lighting installs, surge protection, EV chargers, and safety device installations.
-
Complete Jobs Same-Day: Own the call from diagnostic to completion whenever possible.
-
Use Modern Tools: Utilize ServiceTitan on a company tablet to document job notes, photos, and customer options.
-
Maintain Professionalism: Keep clean, safe job sites that show respect for the homeowner's house.
What Makes You a Fit
-
Licensing: Valid Texas Electrical License TDLR (Wireman, Journeyman, or Master).
-
Experience: 2+ years of residential experience preferred (4+ years total electrical experience preferred; commercial electricians ready to transition to residential are encouraged to apply).
-
Customer-First Mindset: Comfortable talking to homeowners, building trust, and confidently recommending proper solutions.
-
Troubleshooting Expertise: Strong diagnostic capabilities and pride in doing the job right the first time.
-
Reliability & Pride: Self-motivated, punctual (on time, every time), and committed to quality.
-
Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Compensation & Perks
-
$120,000+ Annual Earning Potential: Performance-based earnings reward your diagnostic skills and customer service.
-
Consistent Work Volume: Steady, year-round calls so you never have to worry about seasonal slowdowns.
-
Company Vehicle & Fuel Covered: Take-home company van with gas fully paid.
-
Comprehensive Health Insurance: Majority of employer-paid health coverage.
-
Dental & Vision Insurance: Optional plans available for full family coverage.
-
HSA / FSA Accounts: Tax-advantaged health savings options.
-
Paid Time Off (PTO) & Paid Holidays: Dedicated time off to rest and recharge with family.
-
Uniforms Provided: Professional company uniforms supplied at no cost to you.
-
Ongoing Training: Continuous technical and communication training to keep you top-tier.

- You dislike interacting directly with customers or explaining electrical work.
- You avoid making necessary safety recommendations to homeowners.
