A master electrician holds the highest standard license tier in the trade, earned after several years of documented journeyman experience and a separate exam covering code, calculations, and often business law.
In most jurisdictions a master license is what allows a company to pull permits and operate as an electrical contractor, which makes the credential a hiring requirement well beyond field work.
